# Apple Review Fixes - Implementation Summary

This document summarizes all changes made to address the Apple Review rejection issues for the Storyteller (Märchenzauber) app.

## Issues Addressed

### 1. RevenueCat API Key Configuration ✅

**Issue:** "Invalid API Key" error when attempting in-app purchases

**Fix:**

- Added iOS RevenueCat API key to `mobile/.env`:
  ```
  EXPO_PUBLIC_REVENUECAT_IOS_KEY=appl_DZKQmnbusXnUedXnWxVzQbWEhBx
  ```
- Android key placeholder added (needs to be filled in)

**Files Changed:**

- `mobile/.env`

### 2. Parental Gate Implementation ✅

**Issue:** Kids Category apps must have parental gates before external links and purchases

**Fix:**

- Created reusable `ParentalGate` component with simple math problem
- Created `useParentalGate` hook for easy integration
- Wrapped all external actions:
  - Email links (support contact)
  - External web links (Terms, Privacy Policy)
  - In-app purchases (subscriptions and consumables)

**Files Created:**

- `mobile/src/components/ParentalGate.tsx` - Math gate component
- `mobile/src/hooks/useParentalGate.tsx` - Integration hook with helper functions

**Files Modified:**

- `mobile/components/settings/AccountSection.tsx` - Added gate for email/links
- `mobile/app/login.tsx` - Added gate for legal links
- `mobile/app/subscription.tsx` - Added gate for purchases and links

**Parental Gate Features:**

- Random math problem (addition, 1-10)
- Cannot be bypassed
- Blocks external links until solved
- Blocks purchases until solved
- Child-proof but adult-friendly

### 3. Legal Links Made Clickable ✅

**Issue:** Terms and Privacy Policy must be accessible within the app

**Fix:**

- Made Terms and Privacy links clickable in login screen
- Added legal links section in account settings
- Added legal links section in subscription screen
- All links open via parental gate

**Links Added:**

- Privacy Policy: `https://märchen-zauber.de/privacy`
- Terms of Service: `https://märchen-zauber.de/terms`

**Files Modified:**

- `mobile/app/login.tsx` - Clickable links in footer
- `mobile/components/settings/AccountSection.tsx` - Added legal buttons
- `mobile/app/subscription.tsx` - Added "Rechtliches" section

### 4. Account Deletion Feature ✅

**Issue:** Apps with account creation must provide account deletion

**Fix:**

- Added "Account löschen" button in account settings
- Shows confirmation dialog explaining deletion process
- Opens pre-filled email to support (Apple-approved for customer service flow)
- Email includes user email and GDPR deletion request

**Implementation:**

- Contact support flow (approved for non-highly-regulated industries when properly explained)
- Clear user messaging about permanent data deletion
- Protected by parental gate

### 5. Subscription Metadata ✅

**Issue:** Subscriptions must display required information before purchase

**Added Information:**

- Subscription duration and content description
- Auto-renewal terms
- Cancellation policy
- Link to manage subscriptions in App Store
- Prominent legal links (Terms, Privacy)

## Next Steps for Submission

### 1. Complete Environment Setup

### 3. Update App Store Connect

#### A. In-App Purchase Products

For each of the 12 products:

1. Verify product created with correct ID
2. Add all required metadata:
   - Product name
   - Description
   - Pricing
   - Duration (for subscriptions)
3. Add App Review screenshot
4. Submit for review

#### B. App Metadata

1. Add Privacy Policy URL: `https://märchen-zauber.de/privacy`
2. Add Terms URL in app description or EULA field: `https://märchen-zauber.de/terms`
3. Update app description to mention parental controls
4. Ensure age rating is correct (4+)

#### C. Submit New Binary

1. Upload new build with all fixes
2. Submit all 12 IAP products with the build
3. Add notes for reviewer explaining fixes:

- Complete all items in Testing Checklist above
- Test on physical device (Apple Reviewer will use iPhone)
- Test with TestFlight build first
- Verify all parental gates work
- Verify all purchases work with RevenueCat Sandbox

## Implementation Notes

### Parental Gate Design

- Uses simple addition (e.g., "3 + 5 = ?")
- Numbers range from 1-10
- New problem generated each time
- Cannot be bypassed or disabled
- Meets Apple's Kids Category requirements

### Account Deletion Flow

- Requires parental permission
- Shows confirmation dialog with clear warning
- Uses email to support (permitted by Apple for proper customer service)
- Email pre-filled with deletion request and user email
- Complies with GDPR requirements

### Legal Links Strategy

- Accessible from multiple locations (login, settings, subscription)
- Protected by parental gate (required for Kids Category)
- Links to actual landing page content
- Cannot be disabled or hidden
